Leonbergers
There are of course many reasons why Leonbergers are special, in my opinion. I was initially attracted to them by size and general appearance. Once I started to compare the breed to other giant breeds, it also became apparent that Leos are a relatively healthy breed..... and no drool!!
We acquired Wookie when he was 7 weeks old (and 7.7kg). Leos were not easy to get in NZ and we had already had a total of 4 dogs - various breeds. We were not intending on getting a Leo at that particular time due to our already large dog-family, but I fell in love instantly and took him home.
Once I got to know Wookie and some other Leonbergers, I soon put the idea of other breeds aside. Why would I ever want anything else in a dog?????
